COURSE DESCRIPTION This 8-hour course builds on the principles covered in the introductory IASTM course. Using a case-study lab-focused teaching format, advanced treatment strokes are introduced and problem solving skills are emphasized. This course includes the utilization of motion with IASTM and multi regional treatment concepts. 

At the end of the course, attendees will take an exam for a certification in Level II: Advanced IASTM.

Please dress to allow skin access to your entire upper and lower quarters to enhance the learning process.

At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:

• Choose appropriate IASTM treatments for movement dysfunctions resulting from but not limited to hyper or hypo-facilitated muscle tissue, fascia restrictions, joint stiffness, scar adhesions, and pain limited movement loss

• Choose all appropriate strokes from the following list of basic IASTM strokes to be used for problem- solving various case studies 

• Choose from additional advanced IASTM strokes to be used for problem-solving various case studies

• Apply motion during IASTM treatment to enhance treatment outcomes. 

• Choose the appropriate billing code based on the type or treatment or expected effect of treatment using IASTM

COURSE OUTLINE

• Introductory course review & documentation

• Shoulder plus motion case study lab

• Cervical and upper thoracic case study lab

• Elbow and hand plus motion case study lab

• Lumbar and post hip/hamstrings plus motion case study lab

• IT band/lateral thigh, medial thigh, adductors, and knee plus motion case study lab

• Lower leg, foot & ankle plus motion case study lab 

• Putting it All Together in a complex problem solving case study

WHO SHOULD ATTEND The target audience is restricted to those who have achieved or are a student in their junior or senior year (transcripts required) working towards one or more of the following credentials: ATC, CHT, CLT, DC, DO, DOM, MD, MT, ND, OT, OTA, PT, PTA, RN.
