Keynote speaker (Rep. Melinda Prunty; will address our group. We are also working on getting Rep. Addia Wuchner - both of these reps are on the health & welfare committee).
Following our gathering in the rotunda with KPTA and KSHA we will dismiss so you can meet with your legislators.
Here are some talking points to address with your legislators.
- The Governor wishes to consolidate licensure boards. Doing this will weaken the effectiveness of licensure boards. This would be not save KY money.
- OT vs OTA Medicaid reimbursement rate differential.
For CPT code 97530 (therapeutic activities) the most widely used code by OT OTA the reimbursement is as follows.
OT $21.08/ unit (15 minute visit)
OTA $12.40/ unit
All other CPT codes OT OTA’s use have the same rate differential.
No other insurers have an OT vs OTA rate differential.
No other states have a rate differential fo OT vs OTA in their Medicaid program.
- Have conversation regarding Occupational Therapy role in mental health and behavioral health services.
- A bill pertaining to telehealth was filed by Senator Alvarado. It is Senate Bill 112. It’s current language is very restrictive.
